Bill Jaynes is an artist/illustrator/educator who brings his pen and ink, with watercolor, illustration style to variety of clients. His work has included; drawing for the Wall Street Journal, Forbes Magazine, Southern California Living, Real Estate, and Business section covers for the Los Angeles Times: A children’s game page for National Geographic’s World Magazine: Corporate work for Arco and The Southern California Gas Company: An advertising campaign for the Orange County Register: For Trend Pacific he created a line of coffee mugs.
Growing up in a Southern California beach town, Bill was educated with TV cartoons, surf culture aesthetics, psychedelic imagery, and Dr. Seuss as well as a dose of Bob Marley and the Wailers. Formally, he holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Illustration from California State University, Long Beach and a BFA in Illustration from the same institution.
Bill’s work has been selected to be part of the Society of Illustrators' Illustration 44, American Illustration XX, The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles National Shows 33 and 35. Color samples of the work can be seen in SILA Illustration Thirty-three and Thirty-Five. Bill teaches illustration and Watercolor at California State University, Long Beach. and Long Beach City College. Currently, Bill works out of his studio in Long Beach, California.
